A great idea. A wonderful morning. We should all be more creative and playful. Rekindle the juices in our body, mind and soul. Leap into the void. Get to know ourselves, and give ourselves permission to be free and wild.

Play On …

Tips On How To Bring More Play Into Your Life

  1. Expand your play support circle. Schedule play times with friends/family, giggle times on the phone, times to be in creative playful spontaneity with someone(s) you feel comfortable with.

  2. When you find yourself in a potentially impatience-producing situation, do something goofy and unexpected (i.e., make faces at the person behind you on line in Kmart; roll down the window and have a gibberish conversation with the person stuck in traffic next to you; pretend you're sleeping noisily on line at the bank).

  3. Keep some toys around - at home, in office. Stuff you can play with in your hands ... Koosh balls, wind-up toys, juggling balls, Play-doh, ribbons, Slinky, cars, puppets, etc...

  4. Create an environment and activities for yourself that take you out of typical adult-oriented role - i.e. bubble baths, snow angels, puddle splashing, finger painting (with paint or chocolate pudding), celebrating your un-birthday, intentionally wearing two different socks...

  5. Take your cues from the kids in your life. If you don't have children in your life, find ways to befriend them. Mimic their antics -- the copycat game is a favorite everywhere -- you copy them first! (Respecting, but not feeling stuck by the "don't talk to strangers admonition.")

Laughter is the gift we shared with one another. Pass the gift to someone you love.

The dances, the freedom of spirit and movement brought out my everlasting child in me and I felt laughter rippling silently and sometimes loudly through my whole ME. Great work for breaking through
walls of defense, denial and needing to be an "adult".
